Working within the Community

Working within the Community

a community focused contractor

As a community focused contractor, we take our social and corporate responsibilities seriously.

We believe that an Allenbuild project should provide true value and benefits to a local community.

We recognise the need to minimise the environmental and social impact of our construction projects and we aim to complement the communities we work within.

Our construction activities can provide opportunities for local residents and businesses for employment and skills-based trade training, together with other community focused initiatives.

Working closely with local training providers and community groups, we look to maximise these opportunities.

Above all else, we have a corporate social responsibility to protect the public and our employees from potential dangers arising from construction activities. To this end, we undertake to communicate by way of safety presentations to local schools, residents and social groups, illustrating the potential dangers of a construction site within their community.

We support local community groups by way of sponsorships and educational providers which have recently included:

  • Purchase of a community minibus for The Maidenhead & District Housing Association Housing Solutions Group ‘Pinkneys Green Community Forum’. (November 08)
  • Charity Rally for Cancer Research sponsored by Allenbuild, rallying through Belgium, Luxembourg, Strasburg, Swiss Alps, Italy, South of France, Spain and finishing in Barcelona. A total of 1,400 miles in 4 days (September 08).
  • Sponsorship for Morden Little League football team 'Allenbuild Athletic'.
  • Allenbuild Ltd South East’s 'Charity 5's Football Competition' at Goals Soccer Centre, Wimbledon. (June 08)
  • Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Charitable Funds for memorial donation for ex Allenbuild employee.
  • Sponsorship for the Princess Alexandra Home Fete 2008 held by Trogal Griffin Associates Chartered Quantity Surveyors.
